I truly enjoyed directing this music video for singer-songwriter Aaron David Gleason, who was a pleasure to collaborate with.

I was immediately attracted to Aaron’s piece because of the sound: alluring and enchanting, music with a strong narrative quality.  The unique piece felt like a fusion of musical styles, which inspired me to create a video about a monster that is strange, alluring and enchanting, and taps into the deep emotional nature of the song. 
Rather than create another performance video with someone singing passionately into a microphone, we created instead a visual piece that allows a meaningful counterpoint to Aaron’s rich lyrics. And Aaron himself is prominently featured in the video as the central character who enters into a strange new world.


I owe tremendous gratitude to the cast, particularly Sharon-Albertine Dreze who played the monster, to our cameraman Jonathan Jacobson and to Mandragoras Art Space.

One of my favorite actresses and collaborators.  I worked with her on CONTACT and THE SADIST, as well as co-producing INSATIABLE and THE BLOOD SHED. I wanted to take Karen Finley performance art into the realm of surrealistic horror.  Laura Lona and Brian Uhrich at Mandragoras Art Space were inspired collaborators who were equally willing to take this plunge into the absurd and the otherworldly.
