Some reviews are in for THE DAYS GOD SLEPT

"Kristy's prayer for John to save her from her dangerous life is implied in a way that is both poetic and pathetic...a film full of erotic tension tinged with overwhelming sadness..." - Cassie Carnage

"David Lynchian manachaean surrealism with a dollop of Primer-esque/Inception-like parallel/alternative reality...Lauren Fox's wonderful expressive quality reminds me of Vera Farmiga..." - Dan Jardine, Cinemania

"Impressive how hypnotic, intricate and carefully crafted this is..." - Michal Oleszczyk, Film Magazine
"One look at the title, and you expect something along the lines of a spiritual experience, and while that’s true to a point, it’s not in the ways one might expect...[full of] dramatic imagery contemplative dialogue and a score by Harry Manfredini that draws us into this short film's elliptical, haunting world."  - THE DAYS GOD SLEPT gets an "A-minus" from Brian Skutle at Sonic Cinema

"An eerie 10 minute allegory that makes make its different narrative levels clash, abandon its temporal continuity in favour of spontaneous flashforwards and flashbacks, and constantly leave the audience in the unclear about what is real and what isn't - and it works, thanks to a stylish and atmospheric directorial effort, clever editing and a script that never loses itself in its labyrinthine structure but still leaves the film open to a myriad of interpretations." - first review of THE DAYS GOD SLEPT at searchmytrash.com

Here's a wonderful and thoughtful review of CRESTFALLEN from Film Snobbery.

"The film has the vague impression of being someone’s terrible, fevered nightmare – a collection of related, stream of consciousness images and a fatalistic march toward an act of self-harm that the waking part of your mind can’t stop. The dreamlike quality of the film reminds one of Maya Derren’s Meshes of the Afternoon..."

I'm humbled by the comparison to the great Maya Deren, and take seriously the note in her final paragraph about women in danger at the end of each film...and CRESTFALLEN offering a window out.  I am just finishing up a new film called THE DAYS GOD SLEPT which hopefully features an even more active female protagonist choosing a way to move beyond victimization.  It's a great (and provocative) note Bethany Lewis hits in her review, and I'm grateful to hear it.  Good reviews are like opening doors for the viewer, and sometimes for the filmmaker as well.  Thanks again, Bethany, for providing your insights.

from the baggage press release:

"baggage" is a story that Rob Dimension has been sitting on for over two years now. While eating lunch together, Sal Valente made mention to Rob about a simple premise, this simple premise has blossomed and grown in a full fledged project. Dimension, fresh off the success of the award winning film "No Clowning Around"; another short film he wrote, starred and co-directed, has worked hard to bring fresh life to the Horror genre. Dimension is no stranger to the horror community, from the TV show "Late Night at the Horror Hotel" to blogging and reviews, even to podcasting, he has stood behind so many filmmakers trying to shine a light on the grass roots level; The Independents.

After the gritty feel of No Clowning Around, Dimension wanted to focus on "the complete opposite" and "baggage" was born. Submitting the script to Jeremiah Kipp, a director that Dimension has praised for nearly two years, was a personal risk but came with an amazing reward. Jeremiah responded almost immediately and was on board. Jeremiah had this to say: "baggage immediately captured my interest as a beautiful and macabre tale of a man haunted by desire.  It’s got the feverish melancholy intensity of an Edgar Allan Poe story, but told in a modern and transgressive way.  Every image should resonate with the beauty of a painting, but one where if you look at it too closely, you realize you’re caught up in the swirls of a nightmare."
