David Flint reviews THE DAYS GOD SLEPT for Strange Things Are Happening. "Shorts have the opportunity to be adventurous, challenging, experimental and oddball in the way that features, with their commercial limitations, can't. [This film] is a prime example. With a moody soundtrack by Harry Manfredini, THE DAYS GOD SLEPT oozes atmosphere, a dark eroticism and a sense of foreboding that never quite becomes genre specific. Is this a horror film? No. Does it feel like a horror film? Yes."

Ain't It Cool News discovers CRESTFALLEN. "Finally, we have an experimental short from director Jeremiah Kipp and writer/producer Russell Penning. The music is provided by the always amazing Harry Manfredini of FRIDAY THE 13TH fame. This haunting and experimental film is full of vivid imagery and fantastic music. Kipp shows some real talent in juxtaposing the beautiful with the morose, barraging the viewer with imagery both gorgeous and nightmarish. Kipp relies on weird images and amazing music to force your mind to put together what’s going on. The results are pretty moving."

A new film I directed for writer/actor Rob Dimension called BAGGAGE is coming to DVD. Find out more at http://www.thelairoffilth.com/2013/06/baggage-coming-to-dvd.html and order directly from Rob at http://youvebeenrobbedfilms.blogspot.com/
I ought to shoot another spec commercial. I'm very fond of this one we filmed with Laura Lona and Agata Domanska on a beach in Long Island. Photography by Dominick Sivilli. Thanks to Scott W. Perry for finding the location and helping us out for the day! http://kippfilms.com/armanix.html

Michael Gingold of Fangoria provides a write-up of the latest short films I directed: BAGGAGE, which just wrapped principal photography, and THE DAYS GOD SLEPT, which just premiered to a sold out screening at Anthology Film Archives.
Our composer Harry Manfredini says:
"THE DAYS GOD SLEPT is my second film with Jeremiah at the helm and Dominick doing the cinematography; CRESTFALLEN was my first. I cannot find the words to tell you the joy I find in these films. They’re compelling and full of nuance, challenging and visually full of images that burn in your mind. As a composer, it is a complete delight to work with such material. Moreover, Jeremiah is a giving partner in the process, perfectly blending the creativity and insight I bring with his aural vision. These films are often referred to as dreamlike, but I can assure you that scoring films of this quality is a composer’s dream.”

Great review from Public Transportation Snob of THE DAYS GOD SLEPT in conjunction with covering MIDNIGHT RIDER starring Ryan Hurst from Sons of Anarchy.
"Director Jeremiah Kipp and Screenwriter Joe Fiorillo are exploring the reliability of our memories and whether we truly want them to be accurate. Is it better to live with the fantasy? These issues and more are covered in this intriguing short. It’s not going to make sense up front, but there’s enough depth behind the glossy images to make it a chilling experience. Keep an eye out for The Days God Slept, a short film at a festival near you." - Public Transportation Snob reviews THE DAYS GOD SLEPT (in conjunction with a review of MIDNIGHT RIDER starring Ryan Hurst from Sons of Anarchy).
