The Horror Geek and The Fifth Dimension review THE MINIONS

Some wonderful new reviews of THE MINIONS and some of my other films...

“There are some really great shots -- shots that seem like normal things you'd see in the city or in every day life, but presented in a way that gives this weird air of menace. All of the music and effects add to that feeling of foreboding that permeates the film. Great work. Moody, atmospheric, beautifully shot, and quite haunting.” – Mike Bracken, The Horror Geek

“Based on a true incident, THE MINIONS is about being thrust into a desperate situation that requires mutual trust between strangers. Given the volatility of the circumstances and the uneasy state of mind of the characters, a lot can go wrong. And does. THE MINIONS works wonderfully in transforming a Grimm’s Fairy-like tale of being lost in the forest and taken advantage of by supernatural forces, and instead sets the story in a modern sprawling urban city. The film nicely captures that sense of ever increasing isolation and, without hesitation, increases the pressure throughout to result in an enigmatic and thought provoking climax.” - Stuart Anderson, The Fifth Dimension

Great Interview about THE MINIONS, BERENICE and PAINKILLER at Review Fix

Great interview with Patrick Hickey Jr at Review Fix about THE MINIONS, BERENICE and PAINKILLER. Read the whole article here: http://reviewfix.com/…/review-fix-exclusive-jeremiah-kipp-…/
"THE MINIONS was an opportunity to work once again with writer Joe Fiorillo. He was working on a book, and one of the chapters involved the true story of this man wandering home and his strange encounter with these two women along the Witch’s Path. As with most of Joe’s work, it was like thesacred and profane living side-by-side. The story reminded me of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW where Ichabod Crane has a confrontation with superstition, or the supernatural. Only THE MINIONS is told in a modern urban city street; so it also reminded me of the Kitty Genovese murder case and the outsiders we can encounter in a metropolis. Things can jump right out and grab you."

11-19-14 Premiere Screening of THE MINIONS in NYC

Beautiful people: fearless producer Lauren Rayner, wonderful actors Cristina Doikos and Robin Rose Singer at the premiere of The Minions, a short film. Loved making the film, and the party was grand.

As Lauren said: "Wow! The screening last night for The Minions, a short film was so far above & beyond what we expected. Over 125 people trekked out in the cold to watch our 8 minute film and the Q&A was one of the best I've experienced in a while."

At the MINIONS Q&A, actress Robin Rose Singer answers an audience question: "Which character do you think was the most malevolent?" Nyah-hah-hah-hahhhhh...

Review of THE MINIONS at Coryfilm.com

“Many of the signature Kipp elements are here: stylish visuals, rich atmosphere, a sense of unease created in the midst of beautifully composed shots; an evocative score, strong use of settings and locations, committed and fearless work from cast members. More about the experience than narrative, this is a visceral piece, intriguing. Much like the work of director Terrence Malick, the journey of the viewer through the lushly sensory piece is central.” – coryfilm.com

Interview at Rogue Cinema

I chat with Misty Layne at Rogue Cinema about some recent projects. "I’d love to make a feature length movie based on the main character from The Minions, a short film, with an entire project set within that strange half-world between witches and madness. Lukas Hassel, who played the role, is a wonderful actor; I feel like we and writer Joe Fiorillo have a lot more to explore together."

New Reviews for THE MINIONS

Some good press for THE MINIONS!

"THE MINIONS is a psychologically focused supernatural thriller...It's about a man's decision to take a risk, to follow the witches' path, and ends up having to pay the price for doing so. Great acting from the entire cast, especially Lukas Hassel as William." - Film Bizarro

"Written by Joe Fiorillo, there’s a lot going on in THE MINIONS...a hypnotizing short film that shouldn’t be missed." - Scott Shoyer, Anything Horror
